More than just a restaurant - it's theater! Every dish tells a story, and the atmosphere is magical. Some dishes were overwhelming, others brilliant. The whole experience takes several hours. Perfect for those looking for something completely different from traditional fine dining.

Interesting experiance not only for food but also for eyes and mind. Most of the dishes were absolutely fenomenom. Starting from welcoming set in the laboratory, that was just amazing. After that we have been moved to the main dinning room. Round celing with displayed video as in Sphere were amazing experience, creating unique atmosphere for the whole evening. Most of the dishes were prepared with perfection, very delicate and teasty and visually amazing. But some dishes as tongue, brain and chicken legs where completely disgusting in taste and visual as well. I completely didn’t get the idea of the room with dancing girl and balls - it didn’t match at all. The price is definitvely much to high comparing to the whole experience. I would expect to have all dishes to be perfect, but it wasn’t the case. It was definitvely overrated and overvalued.

Alchemist is a once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience. I don’t want to spoil it for folks, but if you have the means and time, just go. There’s no way you’d regret it. Ilsa and Andrea were particularly fantastic hosts for this mind-altering experience. We’re so incredibly grateful. Thank you, Alchemist team, for all that you do!

A fantastic experience. Top service, food ideas you could never have imagined

Incredible experience worth doing once. The food probably won’t blow you away, but I suppose that’s not really the point. Everything taste-wise was above average, but not anything stood out. The presentation alone bumps it up a bit, but the flavor is definitely not 2-star Michelin worthy. That being said, wonderful sensory experience. The service was phenomenal as well. It went longer than it should. 6 hours is way too long and they could have cut off 1.5 easily. Would I go back? No, but I would recommend it once.

A truly unique experience! Do it!

Alchemist is unquestionably one of the most unique dining experiences I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, I also found the food genuinely unpleasant. The fundamental problem was texture and flavour. So much of the menu was creamy, gooey, mushy and surprisingly under-spiced. Course after course seemed to involve another soft, rich substance: calf brain, caviar, cheese, creams, foams and purées. Many dishes also had a strange chemical quality that seemed to coat the palate. I’m a very adventurous eater and ate almost everything, but by the end I actually felt somewhat queasy and found myself longing for something as simple as a piece of chicken, a steak or a bowl of soup. I could forgive mediocre food if the artistic experience were extraordinary, but I found the artistic vision surprisingly muddled. At the beginning, we were told that the overarching theme was “cautiousness,” but I couldn’t identify any coherent development of that idea throughout the evening. The enormous dome is visually spectacular, but the imagery seemed to jump impulsively between surveillance cameras and giant eyeballs, a circulatory system and beating heart, flowers, beams of light and various other disconnected concepts. There was no apparent progression or narrative tying it together. The theatrical interludes between rooms were even less successful. They felt more like first-year experimental art-school performances than something belonging in one of the world’s most expensive and ambitious restaurants. The occasional messages about animal cruelty and environmentalism also struck me as strangely incoherent in the context of such an extraordinarily elaborate, resource-intensive luxury experience. It felt a little like flying private to Davos to discuss climate change. We also ordered the cocktail pairing, which was particularly disappointing. It is an enormous amount of alcohol. My girlfriend and I split every drink and still couldn’t finish them all. More surprisingly, the cocktails themselves were remarkably plain. For such a visually obsessive restaurant, I expected unusual vessels, garnishes or presentations. Instead, many arrived looking like little more than coloured liquid in a simple glass. I’ve had vastly more creative presentations at ordinary cocktail bars. At roughly another C$400 for the pairing, this felt like a major missed opportunity. There are, however, some genuinely exceptional things about Alchemist. The service was impeccable. Every member of staff we encountered was extraordinarily well trained, thoughtful and warm. For a restaurant that could very easily become stuffy or self-important, the staff were refreshingly relaxed and personable. Our host was particularly excellent. On our way out, he sincerely asked what we thought, and when we explained our issues with the food, he handled the criticism with tremendous class. He suggested that some of the mild, creamy flavours and textures we disliked may reflect Danish tastes, which may well be true. Going behind the scenes into the kitchen was also fascinating, and the sheer scale and logistical complexity of the operation are remarkable. Whatever I think about the food or artistic direction, there is simply nothing conventional about Alchemist. So, is it worth the extraordinary price? As a meal, absolutely not for me. As a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle, perhaps. If you have the money to burn and are visiting Copenhagen, I would actually still recommend experiencing Alchemist once simply because it is so unusual. But underneath all the technology, spectacle and ambition, a restaurant ultimately still has to serve food that you want to eat. For me, Alchemist simply didn’t.

Our visit to Alchemist was extraordinary. The dining experience was theatrical, emotional, and deeply imaginative. The evening unfolded like a series of curated worlds, each dish designed not only to taste remarkable but to provoke thought and sensation. Some of the impressions were outside my usual comfort zone, and I actually appreciated that. What made the experience truly exceptional was how attentive and intuitive the staff were. They noticed my reactions, checked in with genuine care, and adjusted the pacing and presentation so I could explore without feeling overwhelmed. Every interaction felt intentional, respectful, and tailored to what I was comfortable trying. The level of artistry, the choreography of the service, and the immersive environment under the dome all came together to create a night I’ll never forget. Alchemist is a place that expands your boundaries while making you feel completely supported. I’m grateful I experienced it.
