Incredible experience for being our first Michelin restaurant. The staff welcomed us well, everyone greeted us and welcomed us like family to the ark. The food was inventive, delicious and inspiring. You could tell that those who created the dishes and drinks really put time and thought into it. Usually we tend to be quite picky, the type who thinks “I can do this myself” but here we were blown away by the creativity and the deep flavors that were captured so well in the dishes. We have no idea how we would recreate it but have been inspired to try out new flavor combinations in our cooking!

This place is an absolute gem. Highly recommend going here. I will definitely revisit.
I visited to Ark together with my husband to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. And celebrating we did by indulging in The Full Experience menu with one after another tasteful art work entering the table accompanied by a magnificent mixed beverage parring with drinks based on a variety of interesting ingredients perfectly fitted for each serving. And as icing on the top the waiters were (as expected) brilliant at presenting and explaining the ingredients in the servings and the process they went through to become what we were about to enjoy, but the waiters were also absolutely amusing and passionated when explaining about their work. You could feel their personality and passion shining through every word. Especially one waiter with a subtle dry humor was wonderful.

I bear a huge responsibility to the internet because I was the first person to have the new 6 course tasting menu for 899kr. The bottom line: the food is miraculous. You have never known food could taste like this. It was like being in a food museum. The downside: the portions are very small and you'll need a snack afterwards. See pictures to a get sense of the majesty. Later in my trip, we went to the sister restaurant (see my sister review), which I would recommend more.

The 6 course tasting menu & wine pairing was superb with some really exquisite dishes. Victoria was our main server and was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food & wine (as well as the other servers).

Aug 5, 2026 dinner
As a surprise, I took my partner to De Ark for his 46th birthday. What an incredibly fun evening we had!
First of all, I want to emphasize how incredibly pleased I am that vegan fine dining is becoming more and more popular and that it is gaining increasing recognition. As a vegan, this genuinely makes me very happy. It is fantastic to see how much creativity can be found in plant-based dishes and that you don't have to compromise on a special culinary experience just because you eat vegan.
We went on a weekday. On weekdays, you can choose fewer courses than on the weekend. Personally, I find that a bit of a shame. Especially on a weekday evening, I would love to be able to experience the full experience, without having to sit in an overcrowded restaurant on a busy weekend night. But that is, of course, very personal.
The dishes were surprising and beautifully presented. Wonderful flavors, interesting textures, and combinations that you wouldn't always come up with yourself. That is precisely what makes an evening like this so enjoyable. For us, the serving pace was a bit too fast at the beginning. The first four or five dishes are served quite quickly one after the other, after which the pace slows down. We really view such a dinner as a night out and love to dine at a leisurely pace. Sitting at the table for four hours? No problem at all. That is why we asked for a short break after the third course.
Fortunately, this was eventually taken into account well, and we were able to signal ourselves when we were ready for the next course. We found that very pleasant. We did, however, have to indicate twice that we would like a bit more time between courses. Perhaps it would be nice to ask in advance what pace the guests prefer.
Regarding the dishes, there were of course also personal taste preferences. The mushroom steak was really too salty for us. The lovage ice cream was personally not quite my thing. But fair is fair: that is simply a matter of taste. The combination of lovage and ice cream can absolutely be delicious, but apparently I am just not a fan of lovage as ice cream. As far as I'm concerned, the accompanying non-alcoholic pairing is definitely highly recommended. Surprising flavors and beautiful combinations that complemented the dishes well. It was great fun to discover new flavors in that regard as well.
The staff was friendly and enthusiastic. Sometimes perhaps even a tad too enthusiastic, which made it feel a bit forced at times. But the hospitality was certainly good, and we felt welcome.
All in all, we had a very nice and special evening.
And perhaps most importantly for me: I am simply incredibly happy that these kinds of vegan fine-dining experiences exist. It shows that plant-based food doesn't have to be boring or limited at all. It is precisely the creativity, surprising flavors, and unique combinations that make it so enjoyable.
A few minor points for improvement, but above all, a great deal of appreciation for De Ark and for the fact that you present vegan fine dining so beautifully. Please keep up the good work!

This is a difficult one for me to evaluate. The bottom line is that I arrived with high expectations regarding the complexity of flavors and textures, and at least half of the dishes failed to meet them. The snacks were good; they allowed for the discovery of various flavors during the meal, even if it was just a single bite. Some other dishes also offered pleasant surprises—a touch of heat here, or a small sprout or leaf there introducing a new flavor nuance. Other dishes—particularly the potato-based ones—were the exact opposite. The potato was so dominant that the dish felt like nothing more than potato with a few extras on the side. That was fine once, but I didn't appreciate having two courses like that. Another issue—admittedly a very subjective one—was the 13-course format itself. Naturally, this creates a lot of activity at the table and throughout the room, which made the atmosphere feel a bit restless. Another consequence is that portions have to be small; you only get three or four bites per dish, which isn't enough for me to truly explore the flavors. The wine pairing was certainly unconventional, though unfortunately in a way that meant I only enjoyed three of the six wines. There were many natural wines, and the whites, for my taste, were far too acidic. All in all, the value for money just didn't add up for me. I understand that the dishes are elaborate and require a great deal of effort, but that effort didn't translate into a satisfying dining experience for me. For that reason, I almost certainly won't be returning.

All I can say is: it's worth it. It's worth every penny if you appreciate excellent food, superb service, a lovely atmosphere, and the underlying principle of using everything possible and throwing away as little food as possible.
Many thanks to the entire team for the wonderful evening!

The tasting menu was a good experience. Some of the dishes were quite unique, some rather basic and not very special. Flavour profiles were a bit repetitive across the courses. There might be better alternatives for such a high price.

We had an amazing dining experience at Ark. We try to visit the very best plant-based restaurants in our travels, and have enjoyed many wonderful meals, but Ark takes top prize in our book. The food is artfully presented, and very imaginative in flavor pallets. The service was warm and professional and the ambience created a very memorable night for us. Don't miss a chance to experience Ark!
