Bo-Bi Bar København

The atmosphere of this place is indeed a little cold and detached, visitors sit around thoughtfully smoking into ashtrays, the old paintings on the walls are covered in a nicotine patina as are the burgundy velvet walls and all of this is pretty charming. Even the smell in the men’s toilet, which, despite that, looks absolutely spotless what makes feel it as an intended part of the whole experience: a journey back in time to the beginning of 20th century, when everything was apparently supposed to be like this: smoke-stained walls, art nouveau patterned tiles, a piss-soaked bathroom, mysterious visitors and bartenders who aren’t particularly interested in being nice, as people are expecting today, and simply do their job. It’s a pretty honest atmosphere of the place, and five stars from me.

Excellent, a place to have a quiet beer with friends.

A bar stuck in time, I came here alone and found myself still sitting here after 2 hours, listening to the slow jazz and enjoying a slow afternoon of absolutely nothing.

Bo-Bi Bar in the heart of Copenhagen is a small Danish cultural institution located right across from a large Danish cultural institution - Gyldendals Forlag. Bo-Bi Bar is a pub without fancy touches. Here, the craft beer is the centerpiece. Without cans and kegs. Here, the bottle-to-mouth tradition is celebrated without frills. Exactly like in the past. On my visit, a group of lodge brothers in top-notch dress and white had found their way to the bar after a lodge meeting in the Odd Fellow Palace. They stood out at first with their attire, feelings and language... but not more than a few beers. Then we were similar, not so sensible and nice friends. Because that's what happens at Bo-Bi Bar. People of all kinds meet, get into conversation and have fun in this little Copenhagen time warp. Don't expect much, but stop by if you're into an old-style bar with bottles and fun.

A great bar. The look made you want to just walk in and stay longer. Unfortunately, the smell of cigarettes effectively put us off.

Amazing music and the bartenders were really nice to talk!!
