Despite a slightly cold welcome from the patron the service and food was excellent. We ate herring, asparagus, and marvellous hake. A local amaro was interesting. A half litre of house style wine was €30 which I detracted from the overall experience. Expensive at €168 for two but nevertheless an enjoyable experience.

Returning to Christianshavns Færgecafe is always a pleasure. Once again, lunch was flawlessly executed. The quiet charm of the canal-side ambiance, the seamless efficiency of the service, and the superb, honest gastronomy remind us exactly why we remain loyal guests. Perfection, without a hint of pretense.

Outstanding. Mains: (1) Fish was fresh with an appealing, seasoned sear and was presented with a mouthwatering celeriac puree, simply minted, new potatoes with carrot and brocollini. Fresh fish next to the sea. Nothing is better, and this was done expertly. (2) Jerusalem artichoke timbale(?). Stunning, by eye and by taste. Very creative and a welcome treat for vegetarians that often get the short end. Cranberries(?) we're a real treat. Starter: 3 herrings. The pickled herring was the real reason we came. Beer recommendations from barman were well received. All wait staff knowledgeable and diligent Packed out by 6:30pm on Tuesday night. Fantastic. First time visit to Denmark.

We visited this restaurant because we wanted to experience authentic Danish cuisine, especially traditional herring dishes. When we arrived, we understood that the actual opening time was 30 minutes later than what was listed on Google map. Fortunately, a staff member kindly invited us to wait inside table, although they were not yet able to take our order until 6:20PM. The interior was charming, stunning and well decorated, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was clearly prepared to suit local tastes, yet we had no difficulty enjoying it ourselves. In particular, the owner proudly told us that the steak sauce was even better than those commonly found in Germany or Switzerland—and after tasting it, I believe he was right. For dessert, we ordered the strawberry sorbet, which was also excellent and a perfect way to finish the meal. Overall, the staff were busy but friendly, and they responded to all of our questions and requests with patience and professionalism. Even the restroom reflected the restaurant's attention to detail, with tasteful decor and the sound of seagulls playing in the background, adding a unique and memorable touch to the experience.

Absolutely delicious food. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We had the Captain’s summer special. Great choice - lots of excellent food. Thanks for a great time.

A very nice restaurant located near the canal; the food was very good. A good place to stop in Copenhagen.

The best vibes on this side of Copenhagen, very professional staff that works in high pace all the time. The dishes served in large portions and, moreover, you can get a phenomenal shrimp soup of the day. Highly recommend.
