Format Café København

Choose carefully :) I didn't buy anything, just experienced it, so I'm sorry to give it a low rating. The dessert looked beautiful, but upon closer inspection, I found many fruit flies 🪰. Everyone should carefully consider hygiene; are we really sharing food with fruit flies?

I originally planned to stop by this place just for a coffee, but then I saw they also had food on the menu — so I decided to give it a try. They even had a kid’s pasta option, which I actually wanted to try! I asked the staff if they could make it in an adult portion, and they were so kind and said yes without hesitation. No expectations, no disappointments — and honestly, it turned out great. The soup that came with bread was delicious, and the pasta was just as good. Definitely worth a try!

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the Format Café inside the design museum in Copenhagen, Denmark. The café inside the Design Museum offers a selection of pastries. I tried the canelé, which was decent but not outstanding – the inside was nicely soft, but the outside lacked the crispness you’d expect, and it felt a bit too sugary, sticking slightly in the mouth. It’s fine for a quick bite if you’re really hungry while visiting the museum, but probably worth waiting to find something better nearby.

I ordered a flat white, which was okay, but they refused to serve me a glass of tap water, suggesting I'd bought a whole carafe, even though I was alone. The waitresses cited the manager. I wonder about his greed. Am I in Scandinavia or a developing country? Additionally, they told me to go get water from the toilet, even though I'm disabled.

Very nice café in the Design Museum. Very friendly service. The coffee is very good and the pastries are typically Danish and delicious.

The café is located in the Design Museum and was perfect for us after our visit. The service was friendly, and we were able to order quickly. The classic Danish bread was delicious and the eggs were perfectly cooked. The cardamom snail was also delicious. Fair value for money.
