Hallernes Smørrebrød København

A great place to try traditional Danish toast. They have a wide variety and they're delicious. Ideal for a light meal.

Hallernes Smørrebrød in Copenhagen's Torvehallerne is an absolute must-try on the city's culinary map. The traditional smørrebrød is simply amazing – perfectly composed, fresh, and full of bold flavors. The fish and chips, on the other hand, exceeded all expectations and were simply delicious, crispy on the outside and incredibly juicy on the inside. This place perfectly combines Danish classics with excellent quality.

The sandwiches look great visually. We tested them and they were delicious. Unfortunately, the price doesn't encourage a more intense tasting. 😉

Very delicious! Took around 10-15 minutes in the queue (it was around lunch time), but it was worth it.

Very good and tasty smorrebrod. Would recommend to go a bit more Piano on the prices. Almost 27€ for two smorrebrod breads is just over the top in my opinion. Seating is also not restaurant standard but rather like in a bar. No real plate and metal cutlery. Overall I wouldn't come again because the price is not justified.

Maybe I had too high expectations, or it's not my type of food, but it didn't completely convince me. Sure, the Smørrebrøds are delicious freshly made and hot, but in my case the Butter Fried Fish and the Danish Meatball had soggy toast, the fish/meat was cold and dry and the price seemed high for what you eat (a total of 213 kr., about €28.57). I went on a Wednesday around 1:00 PM and I waited in line for about 25 minutes. And cheers to finding a table to sit down to eat! I was wandering around for 15 minutes.
