Luke's tries to appeal to two clienteles that sometimes - but not always - overlap: rock/metalheads and whisky enthusiasts. They actually do it very well. The bar has two floors: the lower floor with a smoking room and an area dedicated to specialty beers and Tordenskjold's soldiers, and then the upper floor which, in addition to the 4-6 booths for groups, also has a bar filled to the brim with every scotch imaginable. It seems mandatory for all bartenders on the upper floor to take a course in the science of whisky, because no matter who is at the bar, they have a surprisingly deep knowledge of their entire range, and if you are the type who would like to learn more about whisky, this is an obvious place to ask. On the other hand, if you just want to have a beer and listen to some rock music, Luke's is also an informal place with lots of personality, primarily due to the unbeatable clientele. There is zero tolerance for all forms of drugs, harassment or otherwise bad behavior, and people who can't figure out how to behave properly are quickly and effectively weeded out. The result is a place where the metal scene really has the opportunity to show its best side and where you can get chatting to some of the sweetest, funniest and coolest people that Copenhagen's nightlife has to offer. Definitely worth a visit, whether you come for the whiskey, the rock or just to go out on the town.
