We had two sandwiches with crab salad and salmon. We ordered takeaway and ate in the car. The sandwiches were very tasty, but I was appalled by the packaging. I thought Samsø wanted to become a zero-emission zone, but that includes avoiding plastic waste, right?

We eat here several times a year and if the weather is not good for sitting outside we order takeaway. We have always had great service and the food has been really delicious. The best thing is to sit outside on a hot summer day with good food, a cold draft beer and a view of the harbor.

Restaurant Dokken

20/08/2026: Yesterday we went to Dokken in Ballen on Samsø. What can I say, it was amazing! We received a warm welcome, the service was quick and very friendly. The food was fantastic; we had a main course and dessert. It wasn't exactly cheap, but the taste was absolutely top-notch, so it was worth every penny! We'd go back anytime!

20/08/2026: We ate here on Tuesday. We've known the place for a long time and were really looking forward to it. The food was fantastic again; my highlight, believe it or not, was the salad dressing—a kind of garlic oil, or something like that. The weather should cooperate for eating in, as you can only sit outside, but you have a great view of the harbor. Absolutely fascinating! Highly recommended!!!
