Cafe Gammelby Tønder

Thank you so much for this wonderful stay with you 🫶 We stayed two nights with three campervans at this campsite. Electricity, showers, and toilets were available and spotlessly clean. We also booked the breakfast and dinner offered there, and we can only say... it was absolutely fantastic 🔨🔨🔨!!!! So much love and care went into everything, from the decor in the dining room to the grounds. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!!!! I hope I can make it back to this wonderful place from Carinthia sometime.

The food was delicious, the hostess very hospitable

We were guests at Merethe's on August 19, 2026, and we will never forget that day. We were there in our campervan and booked a delicious dinner and breakfast. But it wasn't just a meal; it was an experience. Guests and hosts all sat together. It didn't matter what nationality you were, especially since the hostess seemed to speak every language. Merethe, Kristin, and their lovely family create an incredible sense of comfort. Dogs are also welcome. Thank you so much for the unforgettable evening!

What a wonderful place! ❤️ We spent last weekend at Café Gammelby and felt completely at ease and welcome from the very first moment. It's truly impressive how much heart and soul the two owners put into running their café and organizing everything themselves. It's incredibly cozy, lovingly decorated, and has a very special atmosphere – you arrive and immediately feel a bit like you're at home. And then, of course, there are the two super cute dogs 🐾❤️, who are just as warm and relaxed – with both people and other animals. If you're looking for a really beautiful campervan site or special accommodation with a personal and welcoming atmosphere in Denmark, this is the perfect place. We couldn't have wished for a better spot for our weekend. A heartfelt recommendation – we'll definitely be back! 🇩🇰❤️

During our European cycling tour, we had a wonderful evening. We loved the concept of eating together at the same table. The tent site is ideally located under fruit trees and surrounded by hedges. The added bonus is the option to have dinner and breakfast on site. Thank you again, Merethe, for this lovely time together; we will definitely come back to see you next time we're in Denmark.

Today, the five of us stumbled upon this wonderful café for a late breakfast, quite by chance and very spontaneously. I believe the buffet had already been cleared away. When we inquired whether breakfast was still available, we were asked to wait a moment while everything was set up. After a few minutes, we were greeted in a cozy atmosphere by an incredibly delicious and varied buffet and a charming hostess. We felt very comfortable and will gladly return in a year at the latest 💝 Thank you so much for the warm and wonderful hospitality!

I've never experienced anything as wonderful as this. You arrive for the first time and it feels like you've been there countless times. The feeling of well-being is immediate, from the warm welcome to the entire property – simply fantastic. What's truly amazing is the communal dinner in the evenings, where you don't know what's on the menu. But what I do know is that whatever it is, it all tastes incredibly good. And when you sit at a table with the other campers, you don't feel like strangers. The whole atmosphere is created with so much love. And their staff member is such a lovely person! 🤗 Dogs are very welcome and can run free. It was our first time there, but it definitely won't be our last! 🫶🤗

What a hidden jewel! Today we were looking for a breakfast place and found this lovely place. We felt welcome from the first minute. After a short waiting period - which we spent by playing with the two cute dogs - our table was ready and we got offered a huge & awesomely tasty breakfast buffet: scrambled eggs, two types of delicious salami, fruits, skyr, cerials… everything! Even Crémant for a Mimosa afterwards was possible… Friendly owners with an eye for details in an cosy ambience - on top great Country Music! I‘ll be back for sure!

Rarely have we experienced such a loving, welcoming, and homely place to stay. Here, community is actively fostered in a family-like atmosphere. Everything one could wish for is provided. We will gladly return.
