02/09/2026: Excellent concept on Thursday! We were delighted with the food and the fair prices. Young, sporty service, very friendly!

23/06/2026: We were two couples who visited the place on a Saturday evening for a 5 course menu. The food is exquisite, excitingly composed of local delicious ingredients where possible, and the wine menu was perfectly matched to the dishes. Definitely a place we can highly recommend. A small note that you must book a table in advance. Follow the restaurant on FB, Instagram or website.

31/07/2026: Cozy place inside and out. Sweet and welcoming service. Sandwiches don't have as much protein/filling as in the pictures, but taste good.

21/07/2026: I originally just went in here to grab a quick cup of coffee, but the atmosphere and the staff made me end up staying for 2 hours. It quickly developed into a super delicious lunch and a nice glass of wine, while I enjoyed life and the good energy out at Enghave Plads. The food tastes amazing, the wine is top notch, and the service is informal and with a smile. Highly recommended, whether you just need a coffee to go or want to treat yourself to a nice lunch break. 5 solid stars from a frequent and never disappointed customer. ⭐️x5

12/06/2026: Nice place in quiet surroundings, yet still close to Billund. The rooms are used and have a slightly worn look which comes from the carpets on the floor. Otherwise it is always nice and clean Good beds for me not too soft and not too hard. Breakfast 7/10 Served from 6.30.

05/05/2026: We came as a family of 2. I really enjoyed the space available. The property has a large playground for children. Billiards, golf, and table football are also available for the older guests. The bunk bed did the trick. I recommend it.

19/08/2026: We had the all-you-can-eat option. It was absolutely delicious and freshly prepared. They don't skimp on the fish here, which is sometimes the case at other sushi restaurants. Friendly staff! I highly recommend this restaurant.

16/08/2026: Food is ordered via qr-code, service is fast and they are very friendly. You pay at the end. The food is good, lots of choice, prices are quite cheap for Denmark. The only thing that bothered me was the sushi seaweed, which was chewy, otherwise very fresh and tasty. It is located in a nice location between the residences, I recommend it.

08/09/2026: A really large and beautifully decorated Cirkel K store, you can sit and enjoy a cup of coffee etc. in the store.

27/08/2026: The girl serving us was very rude and unfriendly. Rolling her eyes as she served us hot dogs when she realised we did not speak danish.

31/08/2026: I experienced the best service. Even though I arrived much later than my reservation time, they treated me very kindly. As expected of a famous restaurant, the food was excellent. In particular, the bread was delicious. I wanted to order extra.

06/08/2026: Very good food and service! We had steak that was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The side dishes and red wine sauce were also well prepared. An extra plus for the salad plate that was served with the food.

21/07/2026: My husband and I both ordered Ribs and our friend ordered the salad. Big mistake! When we weee served, my friend got a burger instead of salad. We had to tell them that it was incorrect. The ribs took 1 hr to prepare and they turned out salty and without flavour. The sauce that was there was the only thing that tried to cover the bad flavour. But even the sauce was extremely slim. Both my husband could not complete our food. I asked them to take mine away because it was horrible. When it came to payment, we were FORCED to pay for the entire amount because hey claim that others were happy with the taste and the service . Of If I were you, DO NOT get your hopes high on the ribs and don’t expect much from the service.

25/10/2025: A relatively inexpensive restaurant. The service is friendly and attentive. However, you should be fluent in English, as only the chef speaks German. The food, especially the pizzas, has always been very tasty. The only downside is the ambiance: it's just a pizzeria, nothing special. When the weather's nice, you can sit outside.

21/07/2026: Visited the restaurant in Monday afternoon was very busy, even the place was almost full the service was fast. Had Blue cheese Burguer and fried chips, the Burguer was tasty and yummy. It’s expensive but worth a visit…

13/09/2026: Paying 1,900 DKK for two people to leave disappointed after being served cherry tomatoes, greasy tagliatelle and some of the most underwhelming food I’ve had in a long time is honestly impressive. I don’t mind spending money on a good restaurant — but this felt like throwing 1,900 DKK straight out the window. The food was genuinely terrible. Nothing we were served was even close to being memorable or particularly good. To make it worse, adding a vegetarian tagliatelle meant paying another 150 DKK on top of an already 500 DKK menu. For what was basically a plate of greasy pasta. We also waited around 15 minutes for a bottle of wine because they had to get it from their other location. Not the end of the world, but when you’re charging these prices, you’d at least expect an apology or some acknowledgement of the wait. I’m not difficult when it comes to restaurants. I don’t need a spectacular atmosphere, white-glove service or someone checking on me every five minutes. But if I go out to eat, it would be to at least to have some tasty food. This wasn’t just overpriced. It was genuinely bad value for money. I’ve had far better meals for a fraction of the price, and I wouldn’t come back even if the menu was half the price, because I would choose a shawarma or a cheeseburger , or a pasta at any place for a 150 DKK other this meal.

13/09/2026: Unfortunately, Famo Saxo was a disappointment in almost every respect. I would give it 1/5 across the board. The service was average at best and, at times, simply rude. We ordered a bottle of wine and then had to wait around 15 minutes because apparently they needed to bring it over from one of their other restaurants. Delays happen, but what bothered us was the complete lack of hospitality: not once did the waitress apologise, acknowledge the wait, or offer us anything in the meantime. Even the water costs 45 DKK per person — for tap water. Not San Pellegrino, Acqua Panna, or another bottled mineral water. Tap water. The base menu was around 500 DKK, and we paid an additional 150 DKK for the tagliatelle with porcini. Unfortunately, the food did absolutely nothing to justify the price. Portions were small and every dish was remarkably average. I have genuinely had better vitello tonnato from Italian supermarkets, and you could probably fly to Italy, buy a good burrata with tomatoes, and still feel like you got better value for money. The porcini tagliatelle were particularly disappointing: plain, heavy and greasy, with what tasted like far more butter than actual porcini. The supposed steak main course was even stranger. What arrived felt more like a piece of toast soaked in fat, topped with what looked like half a filet mignon chopped into small pieces. Calling this a steak course was generous. The wine itself was okay, but again the pricing felt excessive compared with retail prices, and a large part of the wine list was well above 1,000 DKK. For that reason, the 400–1,000 DKK price indication shown on Google did not reflect what our experience of dining here actually cost. And that is really the biggest problem: it isn’t simply about the price. Expensive restaurants can absolutely be worth it when the food, service and atmosphere deliver. Here, none of them did. The entire experience felt painfully average while being priced as something special. If you want genuinely good Italian food and warm Italian hospitality, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Famo Saxo, in my experience, was plain, underwhelming and massively overpriced.
