The local atmosphere combined with the convenient location right across from Hillerød Station makes Jernstangen an obvious choice for both an informal evening with friends and a cozy afternoon. All in all, a well-functioning pub with soul and character, which can be highly recommended.

19/04/2026: Exciting museum. What a great story you get told when you buy your ticket. There is so much exciting history in the textile world. Unbelievable that a small factory can become so big. Also remember to look in the shop. They still sell and make products that are sold in the shop.

11/09/2025: The salmon was thick and just the right amount of fatty, making it very delicious. The salting was just right, and despite the simple dish, you could really taste the flavor of the ingredients. Tasting it alone was very satisfying, but a little pricey. The salmon alone cost about 6,000 yen, which would be considered a slightly upscale lunch or dinner in Japanese terms. A cup of coffee was also about 1,200 yen, and even though it's tourist prices, you get the sense that prices are generally high overall. The interior has a simple, relaxed atmosphere reminiscent of Scandinavia, and the staff are very attentive. The relaxed atmosphere is appealing, but Japan's low prices really make it seem like we need to improve our national strength. It's best to be aware of the prices before visiting as a tourist.

04/07/2026: Nice little restaurant with a view of the water. Nothing to complain about the location. We were there mostly for dinner, which was all in all excellent, but mostly cafe quality disguised as a finer restaurant. Don't be fooled by the view and wine glasses, the quality can't keep up with the price. Friendly and chatty staff gave a down to earth atmosphere, and we felt very welcome. We paid around 1700 for 4 people with main course and wine.

12/06/2025: I just have to say that this is the last time I set foot in that store. I went in to pick up a roll. I was the only one in the store. You can hear when the door opens, but at least they couldn't that day. I don't know if it's the wife of this establishment or an employee, but she shouted and screamed at an employee, I opened the door again so the bell rang, but no reaction, I chose to knock on the counter, then I manage to get a hole through. I chose to control myself, and have chosen to share it with others. They actually make some good bread, but what I experienced makes me choose to buy my bread elsewhere.

06/05/2026: Your pizza, burger etc are really good especially if you want vegetarian food in a Punjabi style. But I would still suggest that you prepare vegetarian food completely separately. For example, you should use oil that is not already used for chicken, beef or fish. It will provide a better experience for vegetarian customers. The hygiene of your restaurant is also good. I understand that you may not have that many vegetarian customers but it is still worth considering.

28/02/2026: I ordered a Punjabi Special minus the meatballs with the addition of onions, olives, dressing and mushrooms. They charged extra for that – fair enough. But when you pay extra and already pay a pretty high price for the pizza, you also expect to get what you order. First of all, I waited over 1.5 hours for the food, and when it finally arrived, it was completely cold. This is simply not acceptable. I could neither see nor taste the mushrooms or green chilies that are otherwise in the description of the pizza. It honestly felt like a completely ordinary standard pizza – and I actually think a frozen pizza would have tasted better. There was also very little dressing. But the worst part was the base. It was not fully baked – there was clearly raw dough, which can also be seen in the picture, where the toppings have been removed. It is not just a matter of taste, it is poor quality. When I called to point this out, they started arguing and insisting that of course there were mushrooms and chillies in it. I couldn't see or taste any of it - maybe I'm blind, but it didn't seem that way. All in all a really disappointing experience, especially when you pay at the higher end and have to wait so long for cold and half-baked food.

15/07/2025: Went back a year later and this is still true! Good price and service. They have gluten free pizzas that taste like normal pizzas! The time from ordering to being served was less then 15 minutes for a gluten free pizza even though there where many people ordering at the same time! Pizza good, yum yum!
