25/10/2025: We visited on the birthday night of our weekend trip of Copenhagen, and much like the city it sits in - El Goldie was simply delightful. Cocktails were fantastic, guacamole and salsa wetting the appetite before some truly awesome tacos. Beef and Shrimp were our choice, coupled with some spicy margaritas. The staff were friendly, attentive and forthcoming with suggestions. The candle in the corn cake for my birthday was a cute touch, followed by a house shot with the owner. Credit to her for what she has done with the place.

10/05/2026: The food is incredible here! The portions are great and the flavors are all authentic; exactly how I remember Ethiopian and Eritrean food. The owner was lovely and didn’t shy from chatting with us. You can tell he put a lot of work in creating an authentic restaurant that stays close to his roots. 10/10, I will definitely be coming back to try the lamb dish next time.

11/05/2026: I don’t usually write Google Maps reviews, but I just have to say this: I can’t remember the last time I had such a wonderful evening in a bar. The beer and the selection of it and the rest of the drinks are outstanding and the barman (I think his name was Luis? Not sure how to spell it) was really attentive, a cool metalhead and played every song we asked for. I mean: great beer and metal – what more could you want?! But the best thing about the evening was my long-haired Danish friend (I am so sorry, I’ve forgotten your name) from Bornholm. We spent the whole evening sitting at the bar talking about music, drinking beer and some disgusting liqueur, swapping music... if you’re reading this: thanks for showing me Gaerea, I’m now in love with them, absolutely great band. I hope we see each other again sometime my friend! I love you (in a platonic way ;))

11/05/2026: Nice place, good service. Everything is stocked up in the buffet. The food is lovely and delicious. But dear Flammen, don't let the prices of your drinks go to your head. It may well be too high a price per liter.

23/04/2026: Pizza was ten out of ten. You can taste the quality of the ingredients. Best pizza I’ve ever had in Aarhus. A cozy atmosphere with friendly and professional staff. Service is excellent as well. The vibe is just lovely. I would definitely recommend it.

15/05/2026: When you stay at this hotel you are one of the many guests that stayed here since it opened 130 years ago which will be celebrated on July 2025. ​The history began on June 26, 1896, when developer Hildur Bang officially inaugurated what was then called Vesterhavsbadet Tannishus. The architecture drew inspiration from the 16th-century manor house Nørre Elkjær, which was owned by Hildur’s father. ​When it first opened, the hotel featured just one main wing with 13 rooms and a dining room, accommodating around 40 to 50 guests. At the time, terms like "guesthouse for bathing guests" (badehotel) were completely new, establishing Tannishus as one of the pioneers of the Danish seaside holiday movement. ​In January 1921, Ingeborg Skaun purchased the hotel, managing it for the next 42 years. Under her leadership, the hotel flourished and expanded. She built the Junkerfløj wing and added a tennis court in 1935. At that time ​wealthy guests from Copenhagen were picked up by carriage or car at the train station in nearby Sindal. ​Traditions were strict and guests spent weeks at the hotel year after year. ​Later new wings were added while strictly ensuring that all modernizations remained on the footprints of the original buildings to safeguard its historic spirit. I had a pleasant stay in on of the appartments which was nicely furnished and featured a complete kitchen with a small oven and a fridge. You sleep on couches that you convert into a bed. Bed linen and towels are not included in the price. This is because guests who stay for weeks bring their own. You can rent bed linen and towels from the hotel. I used a good hot sauna and a nice swimmingpool. ​

17/04/2026: We loved this little restaurant in a boat on the canal. Staff very friendly, small selection of dinner dishes, but all done well. The steak and fries that I had were excellent.
