22/12/2025: A lovely restaurant with really good food and friendly service. We had a venison burger with fries and a beef sandwich. Both were incredibly delicious! The fries were the best we've ever had. We highly recommend this restaurant. It was a delicious and wonderful evening. Thank you!

14/09/2025: The waiter spilled a tray with drinks over my back. One would expect some complimentary add-on or discount after such, but nothing at all, full price! Food was OK, but not reflecting the price or service level at all.

14/05/2026: Really good service and delicious open sandwiches! I had come to order open sandwiches for the wrong day. Fortunately, I was greeted by incredibly friendly and helpful staff, who immediately started making the 30 pieces I had ordered for the next day. We were very impressed with both the taste and the aesthetics.

28/12/2025: Food was delicious, and well portioned. Friendly staff and a very comfortable space. Went here with a group of 6 and everyone was very happy with what they ordered. I got a complete breakfast, every component was excellent. Highly recommend.

25/05/2026: Was at Vigen this Whitsun. We were going to a wedding in Roskilde and decided to stay an extra night. We had to find a good place to eat there and the choice fell on Vigen as the menu looked delicious. And I must say that we were not disappointed. We arrive and have a glass of cava on the terrace and enjoy the sun. We are then served 2 snacks that were “just” a little pampering. A 4 and 5 course menu that was just great, good wines and great service from the waiter. We ended up with 2,400,- for two people - and yes, that is a lot of money but the experience was worth it all. We can highly recommend others to go to restaurant Vigen.

25/05/2026: Lovely and cozy atmosphere. Fantastically delicious food, where we were constantly surprised both culinary and visual. We had a super sweet waiter who was very attentive and present enough. Our view was absolutely phenomenal, as we sat in a dome facing the terrace overlooking Roskilde fjord and looking towards Roskilde Cathedral.

14/06/2026: We got 2x menu b, it's amazing how much food there is for the price, the ingredients seem fresh and everything is as it should be, we couldn't eat it all and got the leftovers packed to take home for 5 kr, really nice service! The decor is really strange which is the only thing that drags me down

24/10/2025: Worst café visit in a long time! We were there on the weekend and came in with a dog, as there was no notice online or on the door saying "dogs not allowed." The staff saw us, as well as the dog, so we ordered at the front of the counter with our dog. After completing our order and sitting down, employee number 1 suddenly approached us and rudely told us that dogs weren't allowed. Shortly afterward, the second employee, who had also seen the dog before, approached us. We weren't allowed in with the dog, but they didn't want to refund our money either. So they asked us to sit upstairs in the back corner... very uncomfortable and I didn't feel comfortable in the café at all. Also, the cake and coffee itself: Unfortunately, the cake was dry, and the coffee itself tasted awful. It had absolutely nothing to do with a cappuccino and tasted like a cheap cocoa and water mixture. We took two sips and left it because it was undrinkable. Almost 18€ for two pieces of cake and this coffee (?) was too much!

17/05/2026: Good restaurant for typical Danish dishes, cozy but warm setting, the dishes are simple but well made, with attention to detail, to sauces, to cooking, that's what we love in cooking, real cooking, not pretentious, the heart is there, I will return, we are in Denmark so you shouldn't look at the bill.

17/05/2026: Great restaurant in the center of Odense. At Gronttorvet, we enjoyed excellent food and a wonderful overall experience. We tried classic Danish food and beer, and everything was delicious and honestly prepared. We also really appreciated how welcoming they were to small children. The staff were kind, helpful, and assisted us a lot, for which we are very grateful. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant and authentic, and we felt truly comfortable there. I warmly recommend visiting Gronttorvet to anyone who wants to enjoy good food, beer, and a lovely atmosphere in Odense.
