23/09/2025: Review of Restaurant California in Frederikshavn Restaurant California at Lodsgade 4 in Frederikshavn offers an authentic and satisfying burger experience that I highly recommend. I visited while in Skagen for the day and was drawn to the cozy ambiance and welcoming atmosphere. I ordered the Texas Burger, which came with a warm bun, a 200g beef patty, salsa, jalapenos, cheddar cheese, lettuce, onions, pickles, and homemade dressing, all served with crispy fries. The flavors were bold, with the jalapenos adding just the right amount of spice, and the homemade dressing tying everything together perfectly. My wife chose the Hollywood Burger, featuring the same delicious 200g beef patty, topped with sautéed mushrooms, onion rings, cheddar cheese, lettuce, onions, pickles, and the house-made dressing, also accompanied by fries. She loved the richness of the mushrooms and onion rings, which gave the burger a unique, hearty flavor. For our daughter, the Children’s Burger was a hit. A simple, well-sized burger served with fries, it was the perfect portion for her. Restaurant California not only delivered on flavor but also on service. The staff was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. 23/11/2025: Lovely evening at NerD. We had their Christmas lunch with 8 courses and four glasses of wine. Everything was first class. Good atmosphere, sweet and skilled service, tasty wine and incredibly good and exciting food. We would love to come back.

31/10/2025: First of all, we sat and froze! Ordered 3 courses. Sat and waited an hour for the starter, without any snacks or bread. The Frederikshavn toast tasted like the tasteless virgin lobster bisque, just thickened. Waited half an hour more for the next course, the fish was full of bones (which the waitress did make us aware of in advance….-but that didn't make the experience any better!!! They had run out of one dessert and the other - the panna cotta had a nasty sour taste. The waitress apologized for the wait after we complained and said that the chefs had a big business elsewhere in town. We should have at least been given AN extra glass of wine for the long wait!

13/09/2025: There is always a really good atmosphere here and it is well filled with guests. It is no problem to start a good party. The DJ captures the atmosphere and gives it maximum gas. Reasonable prices and a good selection of various drinks.

20/07/2025: Dårlig betjening, OK øl og ingen mad.. Restauranten skrev at der ikke var betjening ved bordet, hvorfor bestilling skulle ske i baren. De henviser til et menukort via deres QR koder. Her står intet om at køkkenet lukker på et tidspunkt. Kl. er 16:03. Og køkkenet er øjensynligt lukket kl. 16. Efter at være blevet ignoreret ved baren i flere minutter mens gæster bag os fik servering, kunne vi dog få serveret 2 øl. Men ingen mad.. De var ok. Men helt ærligt, så jeg har brygget bedre øl selv.

09/10/2025: Ordered pasta carbonara and pasta bolognese. Carbonara was ok, bolognese was lukewarm and almost no sauce. Had higher expectations for being an Italian restaurant. Service was absent. We reported that the bolognese was cold and got 30% on it, therefore gave a higher score on service.

20/09/2025: 0 stars from here if I could. Really really bad crème brûlée, the worst I've ever tasted. The consistency was terrible, the taste was also really bad, the sugar on top was not burnt properly. Everything had gone wrong for them. The service was also not good. The waiter didn't even ask if it was good. She just said 80kr when we got up to the cash register. Worst experience.

12/10/2025: Worth a visit yesterday, even on a Saturday in October! We sat outside in the sun and ate a delicious hot dog 👌😀 and drank a beer. The owner was very friendly. Thank you!!

07/10/2025: Unfortunately, it was the only thing available that was open. Just fast food and deep-fried food. Then the whole order got mixed up. Okay, that's human and can happen anywhere. But please, buy some greens!

12/10/2025: Pleasure of a service you get when you order, I have never experienced anything as unprofessional as this, claiming that they have called to deliver my food, NO call, claiming that they have placed the food outside my home, neither happened. When you call the restaurant there is absolutely no help to be had, completely unacceptable. Hope you improve!

03/09/2025: If you enjoy sitting by the harbor and appreciate authentic Danish fish dishes, this is the place for you. Self-service (very efficiently organized), very friendly staff with excellent English skills. The price-performance ratio is decent by Danish standards: 400 kroner for two people.

02/11/2025: When choosing takeaway, WeMeat has always been a safe choice in the family. We have always been very satisfied with WeMeat and the quality of their burgers. BUT today we were surprised… A lettuce bath, a slice of tomato, two onion rings and two pickled cucumber slices were what could be achieved in each burger - see the attached picture. At the same time, it has always been good, probably homemade and juicy beef steaks, today it was what we assume, ready-made and VERY dry beef steaks, where the roast crust tasted burnt. Previous good reviews are not on par with what is served now. Rather raise the price than lower the quality. We will buy from elsewhere next time and hope that the strategy changes, because then we will happily come back! It was really good before, but the burgers are really bad now. This review is not meant badly, but we would like to ensure that the damn good burger place is also there in the future.

12/12/2025: Was there Morten's evening for duck, tasted good but very small portions, 3 french fries each. Risalamande was laughable, four large teaspoons. It wasn't cheap and they wanted drink money at the terminal!

08/10/2025: The most fried manor house steak I've had, even one from az in Hjørring, is better
