10/05/2026: It's a grill, but even by that standard it's good food and the portions are large. Their small fries are the equivalent of a large elsewhere.

04/05/2026: Excellent food and reasonable prices. Can't recommend the place if the weather isn't for sitting outside.

15/06/2026: When the restaurant on Friday evening 12/6 fills the tables to bursting point and delivers great customer service, the atmosphere is at its best and you expect, as always, a delicious dining experience at Flammen. It's just such a shame that you are greeted by a mixture of half-raw and charred cuts, as the overall experience unfortunately cannot be saved with a price reduction. However, we have eaten here before, and have been to Flammen Sønderborg, Århus and Ålborg several times, and have always been super satisfied, so it's probably just an isolated incident. MS

30/06/2026: This was way above what I expected but granted, I'm not a person that finds fine dining the only viable way of living. I recommend the salmon pasta and the bearnaise burger highly! And just the entire experience of taking in a city that seldom gets a visit.

24/06/2026: We ended up here during our holiday; only one table on the terrace was occupied, and inside there were at most three people. The staff presumably had a bad day or didn't feel like working, but we really sat there for nothing. The staff did see us but took no initiative to do anything, even after we asked for their attention several times. Never experienced anything like this in Denmark. Truly scandalously bad; we therefore got up and went to a lunch spot where they actually pay attention to their customers.

22/05/2026: Expensive. But highly recommended. If you like a variety of meats, this is the place for you.

13/05/2026: The food is usually okay, but the service is definitely lacking. We wanted to go in, but were asked if we could go for 5 minutes and then come back, as the waiter was just pouring for some other guests, but then someone behind us was shown straight to a table just as we were leaving by the same waiter who just sent us away. That's a good way to lose customers👍🏻

25/04/2026: I don't like the interior design. Plads 23 was so much better, with its beautiful set up - lighting system - more beautiful bar area and overall more attractive place. I thought with the change of name the place will be upgraded, not downgraded. I had discussion with my neighbours and they agree, all of us living just couple of min away.. Let's see what the future has to bring. So, far it's very gloomy

20/06/2026: Fantastic place, a huge west-facing terrace with live music, indoor dining is also available in the old half-timbered building, on the east side, another terrace, which is quite excellent when it is very hot, here you sit in the shade, under a large tree, it is small but cozy, fresh service by a young man, he managed it for a week, we had their lovely sirloin steak with fries, and a Zinfandel from Lodi in California, it went really well with juicy steak and crispy fries, so delicious.

28/10/2025: Is a cozy place, with a beautiful interior, you are always welcomed nicely, by fresh young people, who very quickly find a table, and are given a menu card, with any comments on the food, if you have questions. The place is known for their pizzas, but they can certainly also make a good steak, have never had food here that was not okay. They offer Italian draft beer, it is probably worth trying, many different flavors.

19/10/2025: Excellent food in a beautifully elegant, modern atmosphere. Reasonable value for money. We'd gladly return!
