11/07/2026: Professionalism Is What Happens When Things Almost Go Wrong People often judge hotels by what happens when everything goes according to plan. I don’t. I judge them by what happens when they think something has gone wrong. Some time ago, mu wife and I were enjoying the seven-course tasting menu when, after the third course, I jokingly remarked that it had been a rather small piece of meat. A few moments later the waiter asked whether everything was alright. My wife smiled and said everything tasted wonderful, but that I might have been hoping for a little more meat. The waiter quietly nodded and disappeared. A couple of minutes later he returned with the head waiter. Suddenly our table became the centre of a perfectly choreographed operation. Plates disappeared. New plates arrived. Steak knives appeared from nowhere. The table was reset with almost military precision. It was obvious they were preparing to serve me a complimentary beef tenderloin. I was genuinely impressed. Then reality caught up with all of us. We hadn’t even reached the main course yet. The “small piece of meat” had simply been course number three. The actual main course—a magnificent quail—was still on its way. We all laughed, the table was restored, and dinner continued as if nothing had happened. But here’s the thing. I’ve spent much of my career working with large organisations and complex projects. What impressed me wasn’t the misunderstanding. It was the response. Nobody argued. Nobody tried to explain why I was wrong. Nobody waited for a manager’s approval. Their instinct was simply: “A guest might leave disappointed. Let’s fix it immediately.” You cannot fake that. That isn’t good service. That’s culture. The food was outstanding. The setting is beautiful. But the professionalism of the team is what I still remember. That’s rare.

09/06/2026: Was at a conference with overnight stay. Beautiful hotel with an atmosphere of the "old" days with nice decor. Service was faultless and the room was nice and clean. There are also good parking options close to the hotel at a reasonable price. Or free a few minutes walk away.

20/04/2026: This is a charmingly furnished house near the Sylt ferry and the fishing harbor. The rooms are clean, and there's a kettle, tea bags, instant coffee, and a small refrigerator. A television is provided. The bathroom has a hairdryer but no vanity mirror. We had a private balcony overlooking the sunrise and access to a large shared terrace. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful. We also ate dinner there, once à la carte and once from the buffet. Both are highly recommended.

18/05/2026: The best sports bar in Esbjerg, great staff, great prices, great vibe. Definitely a place to come back to, whether you’re watching a game or playing snooker with friends.

15/05/2026: Held a company event, with a 3-game match. And there was good instruction and a good mood all evening... maybe the free bar played a role in the mood 🫣

22/08/2026: BEWARE AT THE CASHIER!!!! There's a buffet advertised and you're approached about it. The daily rate, until 5:30 PM, is 219 Danish kroner per person. Payment is made in advance, so we paid at 5:21 PM. BEWARE OF SCAM!! We were charged 269 Danish kroner per person after 5:30 PM. When we complained with our receipt, it was quickly thrown away. So we overpaid by 100 Danish kroner. The receipt only showed the high TOTAL PRICE of 656 Danish kroner, which is 328 Danish kroner per person. A detailed breakdown of the individual prices for the food and drinks is missing from the receipt!!! IS THIS FRAUD???

16/08/2026: The two of us ate together. My wife had stuffed, fried plaice, and I had the "Shooting Star Deluxe" (plaice fillets with crab and salmon on toast). The food was excellent and tasted freshly prepared. The terrace has a very traditional and basic ambiance, but it's charming thanks to the harbor setting.

23/08/2026: During our holiday, we visited Byens Brød in Erritsø several times, and each time it was a very pleasant experience. They have an extensive range, including delicious rye bread and tasty Danish pastries. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Moreover, they speak very fluent English and are happy to take the time to explain the various products. They helped us choose and introduced us to a number of typical Danish specialties. During our last visit, our children even got to taste a typical Danish *guf*, a very nice and thoughtful surprise that they naturally loved! A warm, welcoming bakery that we are happy to recommend if you are in the area.

08/06/2026: Very nice hotel with great connection for public transport. Only 3 minutes from underground 4. Room good. Unfortunately no nice views of nest by port and sea. Only negative point: luggage storage Outsourced to a third party, costs extra money and it's complicated to get in and out. Expect that as a free service from a hotel that size. Simply money grabbing...

08/06/2026: The hotel had too few parking spaces, so I parked my hybrid in the electric/hybrid parking area (I even had to pay for that!), as it was the only free space. The next day, I got a lovely surprise in the form of a parking ticket for 995 DKK, or about €133, because I hadn't actively charged the car! Of course, there weren't any other parking spaces! Completely ridiculous, considering there's absolutely nothing going on in the area and no other parking options. Not only did I, as a hotel guest, not get a guaranteed parking space (which you also have to pay for!), but the penalty for "illegal parking" is so outrageous and outrageous that I absolutely do not recommend booking this hotel. P.S. The immediate area is nothing but construction sites, and it's extremely unromantic to stay at this hotel! The price/performance ratio is absolutely terrible!

01/09/2026: Chop Sticks is possibly the best Asian buffet in Copenhagen and the surrounding area. The staff is friendly and helpful, and most of the time they help clear the table a bit. The only little gimmick is their robot that comes with Mongolian barbeque when it's ready. Here they use clips on your plate, so you don't have to stand and wait for them to prepare the food you've chosen. The furniture is comfortable and the decor is modern. The only small minus here is that the noise level quickly gets quite high. You might want to look at when it's less busy during the day if you want to avoid a relatively high noise level. This is a typical problem for many of these types of places and the same applies here. The selection at the dinner buffet is the strongest I've seen, and there are many delicious dishes to choose from, so there's definitely something for everyone (Asian ready meals, fish dishes, Mongolian barbeque, sushi, deep-fried dishes, as well as desserts with fruit, cake, jelly, ice cream both balls and soft ice cream and coffee). We were very impressed with the level and how good most of it tasted. Of course there will be something here and there that you don't like. The heat lamps are good and keep the food satisfactorily warm, while the refrigerators kept the fruit, cake and jelly chilled and fresh. We tried many different elements in our party, but each of us probably only got to 1/3 of what we wanted to try, so there is definitely a good reason to come back. We were very impressed with the ready meals and Mongolian barbeque (especially the giant shrimp) and the amount of fresh meat, fish and seafood to choose from. The least impressive was the ice cream, although there were some good varieties among them, especially soft ice cream and crumble. But bonus with chocolate fontaine. Overall I would give the food 4.5 out of 5 and is definitely worth the price. It is a little more expensive than similar places, BUT you get better tasting food and a larger selection (evening buffet approx. 290 + drinks).

24/07/2026: The food is overall really tasty. My favourite is the fried chicken burger because the bun is great, the chicken is fried very well and is really tasty, and the sauce is just great too. The fries are also really tasty and the fried chicken nuggets are also really good. They also have some of the best milkshakes and lemonade. I also do recommend getting a mini burger over a normal one because it’s cheaper but still big enough for a proper lunch or dinner.

03/07/2026: Last evening we went to Jagger to have some milkshakes and they were absolutely perfect! Super tasty and creamy. We had a chocolate and a salted caramel, and i think the second one was one of the best caramel milkshake i ever had. The girl to the cash desk was really polite and full of energy, i really liked her vibes.

11/08/2026: The food doesn't look like the pictures but it tastes amazing. Crispy chicken with lots of flavor. Have tried both the tuna sandwich and the chicken, cheeseburger.
