17/07/2026: I shop there occasionally, the food is nice enough but the promised waiting time is NEVER MET, so annoying.

16/08/2026: We went on Saturday evening. There was no one there except for some friends of the owners who were sitting at the bar and eating there. The owners were busy with that. We ate mussels and they were fine. Very few of them. I picked out the wine myself in the wine cellar. When the bottle was poured, it turned out to be orange and fizzy. Not tasty to our taste. We pointed this out, but no action was taken. Ultimately, I chose the wine myself, so I am responsible for the choice. However, it is not customer-friendly. Oh well, at least the owner's friends got another free bottle... We found this restaurant via Bart's guidebook. It turns out that's just another purchased site. At least, this restaurant does not belong on any to-do list for Aarhus.

28/07/2026: I really don't think the food had the required quality in relation to price and expectations, probably nice if you are part of the circle of friends they got more attention than the eating/paying guests

18/08/2026: I had a chicken burger with fries and coke. Burger was very good and fries nice and crunchy. Nice view. Recommend!

10/07/2026: There were 2 of us who had lunch there. We can really recommend their pasta dish and their sourdough bread with salmon. We also had cool white wine, Chardonney, The service was top notch. A lovely place, we will definitely come again

05/07/2026: As a trained waiter, old restaurateur and 30 years in the industry, cafe Mauritz was a disappointing choice. We had received a morebox gift card as a gift, and when we were going to Svendborg we chose to use this at cafe Mauritz in Svendborg. We had booked the table two weeks in advance, and had pointed out that we had this morebox gift card with us. Still, we were told in an insulted manner by the restaurateur that they did not take these on the weekend, but then it went this time, and this was despite the fact that his shop was completely empty. The deal was that we could choose two optional dishes from the menu, but he changed it so that we could use it as cash (then he got a little more money in the till after all) I didn't feel like discussing it with him so it was fine. We couldn't complain about the service, because there was no one. In general, we didn't feel welcome. The restaurateur was angry and no one came and asked if it tasted good. The food was as expected, it was the only place in Svendborg we could choose so that's why it was there. But I didn't expect anything else than what I got. 200 gr. Beef fillet was fried perfectly and tasted good. From there it was the fries that had been given too little, Erik's bearnaise (from a bucket) salad from a bag, parmesan flakes from a bag, croutons from a bag, dressing from a can. I think they had sneaked up to cut a tomato themselves. My boyfriend got a shooting star, except it wasn't a shooting star, so the story was the same, everything from a bag and bucket. In short, it had nothing to do with cooking. And the fact that you put everything in small bowls shows that you don't even bother to make an effort. We got a couple of lemonades that were really good. The premises and interior were cozy, except that there was no light in our lamp, which I took as another sign that they didn't really care. If we had met a few smiles and friendly staff, we would probably have bought something more and left a little tip. And the tip bowl at the checkout is tasteless, if you provide good service, it will come all by itself and without that kind of begging. But then again, you don't really care. As an old restaurateur, I understand very well how annoying these boxes are, but now that you've gone into it yourself, you have to deliver too. If you don't want to provide proper service for your guests, you should find another job. But I guess we're not the only ones who have had this experience, because when we walked down the street the next day we could see that all the displays were full, but there were only two customers at Mauritz's. I don't think Cafe Mauritz will put a tip there next time we come to Svendborg. I've never written a bad review for a restaurant before because I know how devastating it can be, and if we had felt welcome I wouldn't have written this one either.

28/10/2025: Gasp! Exam time is approaching😬 We have to study, and where better than with a view of the harbor and a little something good for the palate. The coffee is expensive, but there is a student discount on filter coffee and tea, so keep that in mind. There is a café where you can read comfortably and a reading room where you can grind hardcore Highly recommended

25/05/2026: Excellent food and very nice staff. However it was an extremely expensive evening as their parking registration system wasn't working and i ended up having to pay a parking ticket of 910Kr! The owner offered to help and then just didn't do anything.

01/03/2026: Ordered 2 shooting stars and got less than halfway through the food before I noticed there was hair in the food. My mother was subjected to the same thing, she just managed to spit it out..

09/08/2026: Noisy even though we were sitting outside. One sat for 35 minutes and vomited without anyone doing anything other than getting water which went up again. No one removed the vomit or took any other action to take care of the situation...
