08/12/2025: This cozy family-run restaurant is worth a visit for everyone! - it doesn't matter if you are a couple, a family with children or going out to eat with your company. At Lyng Dal you feel like you are the most important guest when you come! I have never experienced such personal service anywhere else and at the same time the food is absolutely excellent.

01/01/2026: My husband and I went here for the first time and we were so happy with the food and the service. We both had the bøfsandwich that came with fries. The fries reminded me so much of the "hot chips" with vinegar salt I used to get in my home country, Australia. The gravy was so delicious and the beef patty had a great sear. We will definitely be coming back to try the fish and chips next. Would highly recommend eating here, also if you love craft beer.

02/11/2025: Decent Thai food. I had Tom Yum soup with a side of rice, and a plate of hot chicken wings starter. That was enough food even for a hungry hog like me. My husband had spring rolls, a massaman curry with tofu, and rice, The Tom yum was very enjoyable... light, tangy and sharp, and went very well with rice. It can be had as main dish. The wings were crispy fried, a little dry, and sprinkled with some salty tangy powder. The massaman was a clawingly rich, sweet and heavy curry...with cashew, coconut and probably peanuts, and with tofu and some vegetables. Very different from a green or red curry where tangy spicy coconut milk is the base.This is something we won't order again. We also found the curry portion was easily enough for two adults or more if they order an extra rice or share a starter. We actually couldn't finish the massaman it was way too much and too heavy. The seats are stools as seen in street food stalls in Asia. They create a street food vibe. But not comfortable for dining in a restaurant. Might come again for the Tom Yum. The menu is not very large.

22/04/2026: For a food lover and whom likes to try something new but also the whole atmosphere! And close to the water! Magic ✨ They also had a place inside where it was like a fler market, people sold handmade jewelry and many other things! I ordered from the Philippine booth and ordered a Bao bun with grilled chicken with Philippine spices. My goodness! It was SO tasty! Loads of spice and the bao bun steamed and fluffy! Wish I had more time when I was there, so recommend having loads of time to walk around and see all the goods!

26/12/2025: Bought fish fillet yes thank you offer, came home and opened the package, it was fish that smelled was limp inedible, hence one star. Have been offered to get the money back. But a claim that they do not think the fish is bad.

05/01/2026: The BEST pastries around. I recommend ordering ahead the day before so you definitely get what you want and your order is ready to go when you arrive. No indoor seating, a couple outdoor seats are available.

04/01/2026: This place is operating on a completely different level. Yes, there is always a line out the door, but don't let that scare you off. It moves incredibly fast, which is your first clue to how this place is run. You can see right into the open kitchen while you wait, so take a few minutes to appreciate what you are watching. It is a well-oiled machine, staff moving with absolute focus and efficiency. You can feel the skill and precision in the room; it operates more like a Michelin-starred kitchen than a neighborhood bakery. The food matches the operations. The cardamom buns are out of this world, easily the best I’ve ever had. They are perfectly knotted, buttery, and have just the right amount of spice without being overwhelming. But what really impressed me is how they handle the basics. We tried the simple bread and butter, and it was absolutely delicious. When a bakery can make the simplest item on the menu taste that memorable, you know they aren't hiding behind sugar or glaze. It’s crowded and there isn’t much seating, but for this quality, I’d happily stand in the rain. Absolute perfection.

08/05/2026: My friend and I were at Café Zalt, which we have visited many times over the years. We have always liked the place, the staff are usually friendly, and we have usually felt very welcome. That is why we were extra surprised by the treatment we experienced last time. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the waiter, who allowed us to sit in the sofa corner, where we often sit. There have never been any problems with this before – not even on busy evenings or weekends. Shortly after, however, another waiter came up to us and asked very bluntly whether there were only two of us or if there were more people coming. We answered nicely that there were two of us. Then he said that unfortunately we had to move because it was Friday night and he wanted to keep the table free “in case” more guests came. It wasn’t the message itself that made the experience bad – it was the way it was said. The tone was incredibly condescending and rude, with no apology for the inconvenience or explanation of the situation in a proper and respectful manner. It seemed especially strange when it was another waiter who had first allowed us to sit there. As regular customers who have supported the place many times and are often among the first guests, it honestly felt quite disrespectful. It completely ruined the atmosphere and gave us a really unpleasant experience. We hope that Café Zalt will treat loyal customers with a little more respect and kindness in the future.

05/05/2026: We received very friendly service, and even our 4-year-old was able to eat pasta, which isn't always easy. A bit more choice for vegetarians would be good.

11/10/2025: Wonderful inn, full of atmosphere, history and hospitality. A living museum. The food is absolutely unbeatable. EVERYTHING is homemade, even the rainbow ice cream.
