23/08/2026: Run, don’t walk to this restaurant!! We are traveling as a family of 2 adults and 2 children. We arrived in Helsingor with tired cranky hungry child and needed to find a place to eat ASAP that was ideally authentic Danish food and met our dietary restrictions. ChatGPT suggested Cafe Olai so we immediately headed there. The staff were gracious and welcoming and after being seated we saw how beautiful the other table’s food looked and smelled and got excited for our upcoming meal. The kids both ordered the lox egg asparagus plate and begged the waitress for more asparagus. They said “it tastes like dessert”. My spouse ordered the Christians herring plate and I ended up switching with him because it was so good. The waitress let me sample their beer selection and although I don’t normally drink beer, it looked so refreshing at the next table that my spouse and I split the IPA. The sweetest and most unexpected moment was that when my children’s plates were brought out the staff had put sparklers, candy, and little toys on their plates. They were delighted and will remember Cafe Olai as one of the highlights of their 2 week trip to Denmark. PS - we tried 3 different types of bread, all were good, but one particular brown toasted bread was the best we have had in our life! We also asked for a second serving of that and fought over the last piece.

23/08/2026: Very poor service, with no attention paid to the dining room. I ordered two gin and tonics; they arrived warm, in a short glass with only two ice cubes (counted) per glass. The meat course was served without the main condiment listed on the menu; we told the waitress, and she apologized, saying it was an oversight. After a few minutes, she returned, saying the item on the menu was out of stock and we could substitute it with something else... with what??? An experience to forget.

21/08/2026: Arrived at 5pm just when they were opening for dinner. Owner greeted us with a very warm smile. Super friendly and welcoming....definitely could feel his Italian hospitality. Started off on a table outside enough time to start enjoying our beers and the shrimp appetizer before it started to drizzle. Our server was great and helped us move inside. Lovely setting, real candles lit on the tables, comfortable and warm. Our entrées arrived quickly. We had the Carbonara and the Fettuccine al Tartufo. Both were delicious and abundant. Lovely Italian restaurant in the city but on a quiet, not-so-busy street. Perfect location. Walking distance from the Nyhavn. Definitely recommend on your stay in Copenhagen.

13/08/2026: Beware of rip-offs!! We received terrible service. The quantity and quality were poor, and it was simply too expensive! My beef pasta tasted only of mussels… how is that possible? I definitely cannot recommend it!

08/06/2026: Banana Leaf is a fantastic Indian restaurant in Randers. The food is fresh, tasty and well prepared. The rice portion is large and included in the meal at no extra charge, which gives really good value for money. The staff is friendly and the service is good. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Indian food in Randers.♥️♥️

18/04/2026: The best experience I have had in a long time. It is a small and very simple store. But the lady cooking all the food was perfect. She adapted the meals to our need to give us a good experience. The food was just delicious. Highly recommend!!

10/01/2026: Fantastic cozy café, run by local volunteers. Always an informal tone and the welcoming staff always make you feel welcome and appreciated. The food is good and reasonably priced - the café burger is fantastic 😜👍 A great place to enjoy a beer from the local brewery, live music, play board games in the sofa corner or whatever the evening has in store. I simply can't find anything negative to say about Café Brejning.

08/05/2026: Really nice place with reasonable prices on great beers and wines! The coffee is fantastic, vibe is chill and the staff are friendly! Definitely the best spot in the area also it'll be my local hangout!
